From Abu Hurayrah that he said, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
"Fasting is the most important after the (fasting) is Ramadhan (fasting) in the month of Allah (month of) Muharram, and the most important prayer after the obligatory prayers (five times) is the night prayer." [1].
Pearl of wisdom we can learn from this hadeeth:
Fasting is done in most major fasting month of Muharram is' Aasyuura '(fasting on the 10th of Muharram), because the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam did and ordered the companions radi 'anhum to do so [3], and when the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam asked about the virtues he said,
"Fasting is abort (sins) in the last year" [4].
Even more important if fasting on 10th Muharram digandengankan by fasting the 9th of Muharram, in order to vary the Jews and Christians, because the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam when presented to him that the 10th of Muharram is a day that heralded the Jews and Christians , then he said,
"If I were still alive next year, so really I would fast on the 9th of Muharram (along with 10 Muharram)." [5]
